General
Advice |
|
-
10 hours of overnightJasting is required
before the day of your health screening appointment.
-
No food or beverages are allowedduring
the fast (with the exception of plain water).
-
Please bring your fresh stool sample
in a clean container or the container provided to you.
-
The purpose of fasting is to acbieve
accurate results for your blood tests for glucose, cholesterol
and triglycerides.
-
Please help yourself to the light refreshments
provided after your blood has been drawn by our laboratory
technician and / or after completion of ultrasound ahdomen
examination.
-
The duration of your health screening
is about 4-5 hours.
What to bring? (if applicable)

All medical records, recent X-rays,
laboratory results & current medication.
-
Letter of guarantee from an approved
company.

Identity Card (Driving Licence / Passport!
Credit Card Or employment 10 Card etc).

Ladies |
|
-
It is advisable to book your appointment
within 10 days of your last menstrual cycle.
-
If you are menstruating on the day
of your appointment, please inform the nurses. You will
not be able to take your urine and stool tests, as well
as the Pap smear, as the presence of blood in these tests
would produce inaccurate results.
-
It is advisable to have your X-ray
or mammography done within the first ten days of your
LMP as a safety measure.

Treadmill |
|
This test takes about 20mlnutes (excluding waiting time).
- If you have a hairy chest, please come shaved.
- Avoid having a heavy meal before under going this test.
- If you are on any heart medication, please Inform our
staff / treadmill technician before undergoing this test.

Ultra-Sound
Scanning (Abdomen & Pelvis) |
|
- The duration of this test is about 15 minutes (excluding
waiting time).
- If you smoke, please refrain from smoking on the day
of your appointment until your ultrasound has been completed.
- You are required to drink at/east 5-10 cups of water
as a full bladder is necessary forth is examination.
- Do not empty your bladder until your ultrasound test
has been completed.
- You will be asked to lie on a scanning couch. A special
gel will be smeared onto the area to be examined. This
gel will not leave any stain and can be wiped off easily.
- A probe will be moved over the area of examination.
There will be no pain or discomfort.
- This test is done to examine your liver, gall bladder,
kidneys, spleen, pancreas and pelvic organs.

X-rays |
|
X-rays are not recommended for anyone who is pregnant or
suspected to be pregnant or has undergone a similar test
in the last 6 months.
