Ramaiah Healthcare Sector Skill Council was inaugurated in August 2018 by Shri Ananthakumar Hegde, Honourable Minister of State for Skill Development-Govt. of India. The centre impart skill-based training courses in the field of Healthcare

With a rich experience in teaching and unmatched infrastructure, the centre takes responsibility to ensure that every person enrolled for the course is adequately skilled to serve the society. The centre has received an accreditation from Kaushalya Karnataka, where government. is supporting to run selected courses free of cost for students.

1. Radiology Technician Course

Radiology Technicians perform diagnostic imaging examinations such as X-rays, CT and MRI scans under the guidance of a radiologist. Radiology technicians are responsible for preparing patients and operating equipment for the tests, besides keeping patient records, adjusting equipment based on patient need & tests recommended and maintaining equipment.

2. Dialysis Technician

The Dialysis Technician course trains healthcare professionals in operating dialysis machines utilized for patients having kidney diseases. The dialysis technicians are also responsible for maintaining the equipment used for dialysis. Post dialysis technician training, students receive the Dialysis Technician Certification and get easy placement opportunities across India.

3. Diabetes Educator

Diabetes Educators are healthcare professionals who focus on educating/training people with or at risk for diabetes. Their aim is to help individual with diabetes achieve behavioural & lifestyle changes to attain better clinical outcomes and improved health status.

4. Emergency Medical Technician – Basic

Emergency Medical Technician course trains the healthcare professional to provide emergency medical support and care to individuals who are critically ill or injured and transport them to a medical facility within stipulated time limits. Basic (EMT-B) acts as first responder to an individual who is critically ill or injured. At the end of the course the provider will be able to recognize, triage and perform necessary management in different emergency scenarios. They should be able to make decisions pertaining to their work area, assess medical situations and perform emergency lifesaving management and demonstrate communication skills, and ethical behaviour at all times.

5. Emergency Medical Technician – Advanced

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Advanced in the healthcare industry is also known as a lifesaver or paramedic. EMT- Advanced has more training and internship requirements than the EMT- Basic and can undertake additional tasks, administer a greater range of medication and perform more procedures.

6. Operating Theatre (OT) Technician

The key responsibilities of the Operating Theatre Technician are to transport patients, preparing operating room for surgery, set up, check, connect and adjust surgical equipment, technical assistance to surgeons, clean & restock the operating room, arrange instrument, supplies and equipment according to instruction and position patients for surgery. This job requires the individual to work in collaboration with doctors and nurses and other healthcare providers. The individual should be result‐oriented. The individual should also be able to demonstrate clinical skills, communication skills and behavioural skills.

7. Anaesthesia Technician

An Anaesthesia Technician is an allied health professional who works with the anaesthesiologist and other operating room team members to make sure that patients are sedated and properly anesthetized before surgery. Their also responsible for testing and maintaining equipment ahead of surgery.

8. Pharmacy Assistant

Pharmacy Assistant in the healthcare industry is also known as a pharmacy technician and pharmaceutical care associate. Pharmacy assistants work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and perform many pharmacy-related functions. They refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist. Technicians review prescriptions or requests for refills that they receive from patients and nurse

9. Medical Records & Health Information Technician

Medical Records & Health Information Technicians compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare industry's numerical coding system.

10. Geriatric Aide

Geriatric Care Assistants (GCAs) usually work in a hospital and home/old age homes and may be called by similar names such as elderly care attendants or Nursing Aides. Internationally, they are usually called Nursing Assistants or Patient Care Assistants. They work in collaboration with (and usually under the supervision of) doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to deliver the prescribed healthcare services to their patients. As they deal with elderly/old age patients, essential qualities include an orientation to knowledge on geriatric illnesses and special needs, service, empathy, basic communication skills and the ability to follow orders and behave ethically.

11. Diet Assistant

The Diet Assistant assists a registered dietician in planning, preparing and serving meals to patients with specific dietary and nutritional needs. The DA is also known as Dietetic Assistant or Dietary Assistant. Key responsibilities of the Diet Assistant include diet preparation, diet regulations, food handling, safety and sanitary standards and certain administrative functions.

12. General Duty Assistant (GDA)

General Duty Assistant are also known as “Nursing Care Assistant”, “Nursing Assistant” , “Nursing Aide”, “Bedside Assistant” or “Orderlies” when working in a hospital environment. Individual on the job provides patient care and helps maintain a suitable environment. Some of the key responsibilities of the General Duty Assistant are to provide patient’s daily care, patient’s comfort, patient’s safety and patient’s health needs.

13. Blood Bank Technician

Blood Bank Technicians work in a lab to collect, label and store blood. The blood bank technicians test samples to screen potential donors, store blood, draw and maintain documentation and records. They make patients comfortable during the procedure and monitor their vital signs. They check blood compatibility before issuing it out for transfusion. Blood Bank Technicians usually work in blood-donation centres, reference labs, transfusion blood service centres and research facilities.

14. Home Health Aide (HHA)

Home Health Aide's are also known as Home Health Providers. They provide routine individualized healthcare to the elderly, convalescents, or people with disabilities at the patient's home. Monitor or report changes in health status. Provide personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming of patient.
