The Ramaiah BMT centre is associated with University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) which is one of America’s leading health science universities to deliver world class quality treatment at Ramaiah Hospital. The partnership comprises constant exchange of research knowledge and training between the two institutions to inculcate the latest cutting edge practices for better patient care.
The centre has clinical hematology and bone marrow transplant unit, which is a state-of-the-art facility that has four BMT suites and an exclusive hemato-pathology lab and a world class stem cell lab. Conditions like multiple myeloma, leukemia, lymphomas, aplastic anemia, immune deficiency disorders, childhood leukemia, and certain pediatric cancers are few of the common ailments that can be treated with bone marrow transplants at the unit.
